For several reasons – one was certainly my standing in the state – parliament – elections here in Brandenburg on September 22nd. The campaign absorbed an incredible lot of time and energy. Don’t worry: I haven’t become a politician.
I just wanted to put forward a few points which I think are important and make sense to me and my comrades. In the gone – senseless – world I find that very very needed. Having done this quite successfully, we are back to normal (whatever that may be…).
From all this you may have gathered: We are alive, kicking and weaving a lot!
Both weaving and manufacturing finished pieces from our fabric are in a fine way of going, alongside our “evergreen” products we have designed and made quite a few new items.
Our longest standing product is still doing well. You have to see the colors our commission – spinner Christine is coming up with to believe them!
Most pieces of clothing I have created recently are either unique or made in very small numbers. The feeling to have a piece which exists only once seems to be a very liked one amongst our customers at present.
Some recent examples:
It turned out really amazing and won`t stay here long.
These are but a few tiny snippets of our work here, you could say “not much has changed…”
After the total failure of our “Donegal – adventure” last year, we have been very cautious with predictions for the time ahead. We can tell you though: The future of Flax Mill Textiles lies in one country, not in rocking back and forward between two! You may guess which one that is.
It won’t be long now until we come forward with the “final abode” and the “final stage of linen – making”. We won’t last forever but as things are, there is “a bit of strength in this band yet.” (Keith Richards).
Keep in good touch and don`t forget: On December 21st, the famous Winter Solstice Gathering is taking place. This time the scene of crime is in Brandenburg – not that hard to get to, just by the way.
Next year? Most certainly not here!!
Love over Gold!
